Performance: Media Vida + Media Vida = Una Vida

A two-month process of collective artistic creation and memory making with members of the locality of Mártires in Bogotá as part of the Costurero de las Verdades: Kilómetros de Vida, Memoria y Paz.

Bogotá Bordada

My self-portrait was the result of conversations about women’s (self)representation that took place as part of a project called “Bogotá Bordada“. These workshops sought to facilitate spaces of reflection through the practice of embroidery, and brought together different collectives throughout the city of Bogotá, including el Costurero de las Verdades: Kilómetros de Vida, Memoria y Paz.

Radical Housewives

I played Elizabeth Morton, an executive member of the Toronto Housewives Consumer association, in the play adaptation of Julie Guard’s book, Radical Housewives: Price Wars and Food Politics in Mid-Twentieth-Century Canada. The play was a production of the Toronto Worker’s Theater Group and was presented at the Mayworks Festival in 2022.

As part of the celebration of El Día de los Muertos, I organized with members of Los Que Se Van collective an altar in honour of the land and human rights defenders killed in Colombia after the signing of the peace accord in 2016. The project was done in collaboration with the Unión de Costureros in Bogotá, Colombia.
